Dynamic Group or Role Assignment by IQA

Tool or process to create and populate iMIS Groups or Roles based on an IQA query.

Business Case: This is useful where group numbers are large or change frequently. Groups can be used to control access to navigation, content, communities, etc. in iMIS and on the web. Groups can be maintained for purchasers of particulary products, particular event registration, particular committees, or ad-hoc defined groups (e.g. everyone in New York City)

Subscriptions to Communities can also be managed through this tool. Subscribers are members of a community who have chosen to subscribe to the community or any individual component of it (Forums, Blogs, Wikis, etc). Subscribers can be populated manually through the communities module. This is time consuming to maintain as the group membership may change frequently. This is where the groups tool allows users to automatically manage the subscribership to a community, similar to how we manage Groups. A subscriber in Communities will appear on the Roster and will receive email updates of each post.

There is a consultingware tool for this, but this has not been productized yet, and is hugely useful.
